Colin Baxter

Campaigner for Alderbury & Whiteparish

Colin Baxter

Colin Baxter has been a Liberal Democrat for many years. Back in the early seventies he was a New Forest District Councillor for Blackfield and Langley, before work commitments to him to Scotland and Europe. For the past four years he has held the post of Election Agent for the Salisbury party.

Colin believes that rural wards need special attention as the issues that impact the communities may not be universal to the whole of the ward. Transport (e.g. bus services), crime (e.g. theft, fly tipping), development (e.g. affordable housing, infill developments) and infrastructure maintenance (e.g. potholes, drains) can have different priorities from village to village. Rural communities need active listeners and doers to make sure they don’t lose out to the larger towns in the county.
