Mac Brown

Salisbury City Councillor for East Harnham

Mac Brown

Mac Brown is regularly out and about in East Harnham, engaging with residents and discussing the issues that matter most to them and their families. Common concerns include housing developments being forced through without consideration and increasing traffic congestion.

As a concerned resident, Mac has already engaged with the Council to explore improvements to the Harnham gyratory. While plans exist, they are minimal. Shockingly, the Conservative administration recently abandoned a £15 million Department for Transport grant application for major improvements; an unacceptable failure.

Mac is actively monitoring proposed housing developments at Site 8 (South of Harnham) and Site 9 (Land West of Coombe Road), where 310 additional houses are planned in yet another piecemeal Salisbury development. The Downton Road site is also raising serious concerns. Mac is working with residents to ensure their voices are heard about the strain on infrastructure and the threat to the local landscape; issues Conservative councillors have ignored.

Despite public consultation, local Conservative councillors have supported these developments, failing to stand up for East Harnham. They had opportunities to challenge these plans but chose not to act.
